The partners of the IN-SQUADS project meet at a transnational event in Niš, Serbia

Partner countries of the In-Squads project advance social integration of children through sports

On January 21 and 22, 2025, the third working meeting of the European In-Squads project was held, with participation from the four partner countries: Spain, Serbia, Poland, and Denmark. The meeting evaluated progress since the project began in January 2024.

During the first working session, representatives from each country focused on planning the pilot implementation of the In-Squads model, scheduled for the 2024-2025 school year. Each partner shared their approach to integrating the training program, designed by the University of Seville, into sports activities targeting children aged 6 to 12 at risk of social exclusion.

In a subsequent session, the University of Seville, as the coordinating entity, outlined key guidelines for the pilot phase. Meanwhile, the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia summarized the dissemination actions taken so far and presented the upcoming materials to be developed for further outreach.

The partners also agreed on the next steps to achieve the project’s goals, which focus on promoting social integration through football. This European initiative aligns with the priority of combating violence, racism, discrimination, and intolerance in sports, as well as addressing violent radicalization.

The In-Squads project continues to establish itself as a vital tool for the social development of vulnerable children.
